Soil powder mined in Yamashina, Kyoto, Japan.
It is used to make Kokuso urushi.
It has the same ingredients as Tonoko, but is rougher and dries better than Tonoko.

Ingredients are as follows:

CaO 0.22%
MgO 0.95%

Can I purchase from outside Japan?

Is it ok for hot liquids or foods?

Yes, urushi lacquer becomes very robust when it hardens.
But it is not suitable for items that are directly exposed to fire, as this will damage the urushi lacquer.

Can I use my ceramic with kintsugi in the microwave?

Never use it in a microwave oven. It is very dangerous and may cause a fire.

Is kintsugi appropriate for a glass item?

Glass is not suitable for kintsugi because urushi lacquer does not work well.
